I read on another board that you could make this JACL Patch for Joomlaboard work for Fireboard. That would be so awesome! Attaching the file for you in hopes that this is possible.

Just curious if anybody but me has an interest in using JACL Plus permissions with Fireboard the way we used to be able to with Joomlaboard...

ME! I didn't use joomlaboard, but I will start a forum with fireboard and I am already using the JACL for the user groups and levels.

Hi Eli,

It isn't that the two don't work together -- the Joomlaboard/JACL Plus plugin allowed you to control your Joomlaboard according to the more granular permissions offered by using JACL user groups.

Make sure you don't create groups using "Public Frontend" as your parent group and all should be ok with jacl plus

What is missing is the ability to allow access by groups. The old Jaclplus patch for Joomlaboard allowed this. For example, say I have 3 forums:

1. public
2. silver level
3. gold level

Without the patch I cannot allow each level to access its own forum PLUS allow the gold level to access the silver level forum. In Jommlaboard with the JACL patch I was able to do that.

im with you.
But i would prefer that such things are possible:

1. public
2. working groups
2.1 XYZ
2.2 ABC
3. Boardmembers

I want that i can select an user more than one usergroup. Like User John get access to public xyz and Boardmembers! Nothing more!!!!
Or Jacob has access to public and ABC.

Is this possible?

Sure you can, gdwoods. Just have Gold as a child group of Silver in JACL and it set YES to allow child groups access to the Silver Level in Fireboard.

I would also love if there was a patch so that Fireboard could use the user groups from JACL. I've got a few sites that I would love to upgrade to Fireboard but I'm unable to do so until I have this possibility.
