SerrBizSEF Complete, the Joomla SEO dream machine, now has a SEF rule for FIREBOARD!

SerrBizSEF Complete turns Fireboard URLS engine friendly URLS like this: /forum.html, /forum/2/boardtitle.html, /forum/2/childboardtitle.html, /forum/2/boardtitle/topictitle.html.

It also creates a SEF for user profiles.

The deal is this. We made the rule for an previous version of Fireboard. They just released the new version. We are busy with other projects and Joomla 1.5 items. If customer wants a new custom rule created ASAP, then OK, they can order it. We estimate 2-4 hours. If customer doesn't want to pay for a custom rule, then they can wait untill we have time to update, or roll back to Fireboard 1.0.3 Stable.

That makes sense, but for anyone not aware of this issue, it could have been a nightmare, ESPECIALLY on a live site.

However I do understand and appreciate your explanation.

Bad karma for mis-representing the facts. Apparently you can have what you want in a matter of hours, if you wanted to pay for, it or wait until they have the time to create a new rule just like everyone else.

Thanks Serr.biz. I don't use standard SEF as I am on windows server and none of the SEF components work for me. However I am on BOJ a lot helping others with their issues and this one would have stumped me for sure. Also now taking note, this post was originally started over 2 months ago, ALL JOOMLA changes in two months. Heck FB has gone from nothing to one of my personal favorite components in 2 months. My first version took me a month to recode most of it and fix all the bugs.

Yeah, that' the great and terrible thing about open source. The changes are lightening fast. I could spend my entire life just debugging and modifying SerrBizSEF to fit all know version, etc. But, there are bills to pay, and SerrBizSEF is still in the red, even with some paid downloads from users like YogaBasic, which we appreciate...but higher paying gigs take priority.

Hey grumblemarc, I don't feel that I misrepresented the facts here. The component does not work with the current version of FireBoard. I purchased the SerrBizSEF component about 2 weeks ago and I upgraded my FireBoard to the current version last week and it took me several days to figure out what was disabling the FireBoard functions. I was posting this to update the post to inform people of the issue (and I included the link to their support forum where it was originally posted). I'm glad that Serr.biz will post this issue on their site to let people know as well.

Hazzaa, this did happen on a live site and it was a real bummer. Since Serr.biz did not have a real solution to this issue other than paying them more $$ I decided to install sh404SEF and it is working better than SerrBizSEF, so in the end this hassle has made my site better, but I am still really disappointed in Serr.biz not wanting to refund me for a component that they admit does not work.
