I'm sorry...I may have jumped the gun with that... I'm not sure to be honest...

Maybe someone from BJ can help us?

I tried this new update of fireboard and all things seems to work properly. I use it with the las version of PMS Enhanced 2.0.4 (french version) which is based on MyPMS (maybe). Now discuss bot link work even for unregistered users (i.e fblatest module). Search function in the forum works for registered users (in last version It didn't). This beta version seems to solve all the problems I had in the last one.
I found only one problem that remains: when writing topic (or answer) and using "preview" tool, emoticons don't appears.
To sum up: It's a great job!

Yay!

That about sums it all up really.

To convert it from 1.0.0 to 1.0.1 i simply uninstalled FireBoard .0 then installed FireBoard .1 and it is all working fine. I did not loose any data and there don't seem to be any problems with making new posts or threads.

I am loving the new features in the configuration section as well. Everything works perfectly with Community Builder and has tied in nicely with JIM too. Great job.

All i need now is some more templates for 1.0.1

Thanks a lot FireBoard Team!

If you uninstall and reinstall you will lose links within the posts. For example I have posts that have pictures linked to them. I had to re-link all my pictures in order to restore the links. Luckily I did not have that many, but for those that do--it is better to stick with the manual installation.

Is that just links to things uploaded that will be lost? I did a reinstall, and my links that I made within a post to other posts seem to be preserved.

I did a reinstall because I use Community Builder, so avatars were stored outside of FB (plus the upgrade instructions made my head explode).

Does anyone know if the SQL upgrade needs to be run if doing an uninstall/reinstall? That was one of the steps in the upgrade process that wasn't clear to me, so I haven't done it (I did the uninstall/reinstall). Everything seems to be working OK as far as I can tell.

Thanks.

Yes it was the links to things uploaded. Since I personally did not have much uploaded it was easier for me to uninstall then reinstall again instead of going through the pain of the upgrade. I would not advise people with lots of linked files though to uninstall and reinstall without thinking through how much time the upgrade will take versus reinstalling a buch of linked files.

I'm curious about this too. I'd like to just uninstall and reinstall (since my forum doesn't have many linked files) and I'd like to know if I still need to execute those SQL queries.

thanks!
