can someone post here, how i can use the workaround of the above codesnippet, so it works here at my eventlist version?
Please help! where exactly do i have to put this code? eventlist.htnl.php? which line?

I AM REALLY LOST. which discussbot version is actually working and which does what? there are thready here with so mayn pages and version that it is impossible to overview it.
COuld someone please post a sticky message in this forum where the latest working builds can be downloaded?
Is tehre already a discussbot that works like the one used here on bestofjoomla.com? and don't they release their working version?

welcome to a common dilemma. the discussbot as you have seen on this website is not going to be released by the BOJ team. various hard working fireboard members have attempted to recreate this plugin, some work on different installations, some don't.

Currently, 2 users have been working on a solution. Supercool users 4umfreak and dragontje124 have been the driving force with this, and the fruit of their work can be seen at 4umfreak's website:

it is a pitty. the BoJ have a working solution and they said in the beginngin they would release it. now it seems they make the community jump through hoops. the ymust be laughing their asses off, seeing how hard some people work to get what they already have....

When did they say they would release THEIR version? I don't recall that. I don't see why EVERY customization seen on the BOJ site needs a release. As I recall the hack to the Discussbot wasn't very pretty and probably the reason it WON'T get released. There are working Discussbots. Use them. If you want to have custom code, create it or get someone to do it for you. Do you really think statements like yours will elicit some kind of response from the devs? If I was a dev right now I'd truly be "laughing my ass off".

I perfectly see your point but you are not seeing mine. It has LONG been unclear whether the discussbot here would be released or not. I was one of the first members here actually when everything was two hours old and back then greatpixels and other people involved said the hack was not stable and they would release when it was stable. then they said the'd release with Fireboard stable version which took quite a while as well, but the discussbot has still not been released.
People kept asking and craving for it and many were looking forward to it. Then someday a few has given up hope and started hacking the available discussbots to make it look like here on BoJ. Why should developers have the community waste its time by creating a perfect clone when with as little as prroviding their code those members now doing their own thing could have made the existing "dirty hack" you talk of a clean nice discussbot for all of us?
You see how much work was involved to create the discussbot offered by dragontje! Just count all the forum thread pages for dicussbots and you will see my point. Just imagine that effort had been put into testing and development of other extensions!

Sorry to say this now, but I think as a global mod you are a bit harsh and jump to conclusion too fast instead of actually moderating. I am neither silly nore worth being laughed at, i was just pinpointing my feelings and sharply critizising the devs in this matter.

Apart from that I think FB is a great extension and I am happy to be a part of this community. So no hard feelings. After all if there is no other way let's smile and be happy with what we have then, shall we?
