Your forum loaded fine for me and it looks fantastic. Real smooth and much better looking than the phpBB bulletin boards.

I'd be happy if I could just get mine to work. I've just uninstalled it again and will reinstall it and see what happens. It installs but I can't see how to add a new topic....

Seems to be working ok....thanks for the offer anyway. I'll keep coming back to this board. I've enjoyed reading your posts.
I've hardly had any sleep since I decided to start installing this yesterday at 11pm. Now it's sort of there I think I'll just try and get a bit of kip for a while.

Thanks again.
I'm very excited.

Regards
Russty

Hey Rusty, thanks! Yeah that is a weird thing with Fireboard. It took me a long time to figure it out, too - I had a lot of help! It's DOABLE though, and actually pretty customizable, so don't give up.

Well....i finally got it installed and it looks and feels great. One problem i'm having now though is that users who are registering to log into the forums aren't getting their confirmation emails....so it's only partly working.

I've checked in lots of places about this issue and FXStein on this forum said it was a joomla! issue. So I posted the problem on the Joomla! site and I haven't had a response for over 24 hours. So I thought I'd drop it back in here to see if I might get a result. Whilst it's a joomla! issue, it's probably more likely to be experienced by those using the Fireboard.

I'm wondering if you might have experienced this during your setup or know how I might be able to fix it.

Otherwise it looks great....can't wait to get it out there. Glad I kept my mouth shut about it and didn't tell anyone otherwise I'd have egg all over my face.

Anyway, I know I probably shouldn't post this here but I'm just looking to find a resolution to this final little glitch.

Hope someone can help.

Cheers,
Russ

If you find the solution let me know.

There is a setting where a user needs to get the confirmation and a setting where they don't - I think I have mine set to no email confirmation.

I was, and I do every now and then. I actually just misspoke: I now require email confirmation. Sometimes, users are blocked and I have no idea why - it might be a Joomla filter or something.

I use Community Builder and go to Configuration under that in my Joomla Admin - there are a lot of options there for how to fix it. Also I just go to check my users periodically to make sure no one is being blocked or had an unsuccessful register process, and if they have I fix it in Community Builder on the admin side.

I think, though, that it's still a little hinky in general and doesn't go as smoothly as you would expect...

Thanks for the reply,

Still, I can't figure it out. In the Joomla! admin section the default setting was for Localhost in the Configuration module. I'd heard that it should be "mydomain.com" and subsequently changed it from localhost to "mydomain".....still nothing....not sure if i should change it back to localhost.

I get confirmations from all sorts of forums so I would have thought this would not have been such an issue to find a fix for but it appears as though some defaults are being overwritten.

Judging by your previous response you're suggesting that users didn't require an email confirmation, that they could just start using the board....is that right?

Do you think I should install community builder as a potential problem solver and disable it's use?

I'm not really sure what community builder is for.
