Is there a way to convert SMF to latest version of FB?

I'm reluctantly posting the attached file.

Its from the conversions discussions before - but I've butchered it a bit because I wasn't getting my threads over as threads...

I would not call this a 'solution' its a try it and see...

Its not pretty. The code isn't mostly mine (nor is it credited properly... but i think its from the SB convertor originally). If ur forum is big it may well die.

If you haven't synced your users already then this might do it but I commented that code out cause mine were synced.

it runs on the assumption the two forums are in one db, if not copy them over first.

I put these files into ../components/smf2fb and then accessed www.mysite.com/components/smf2fb (I have SEF enabled) otherwise access www.mysite.com/components/smf2fb/index.php

You need to add username etc to the mysql file.

OK the test went smooth I see the categories but the topic and reply #'s are not visible it says 0 . I can still reply and move topics. I had similar problem with 1.01 but was not able to see the topics and replays at all

ok Recount stats did the trick , I see # of posts and reply but user list is missing

Yeh I simply wnet with the theory that when users login first time and do something in FB it will create them... dunno if thats the case! But there is no hack in J! registration so not sure how else J! picks up new users...

yes but you comented out the part that is populationg the user list , so if you you have 1500 like me you have to wait for every one of the to log in sometime in order for profile to be created. I took comments of and it works perfect except atachmants but I did not have many anyway
