I have several hundred thousand posts.

I have tried this along with the other SMF to FB converter. I make it to the user signatures and posts and I get the syntax errors due to the apostrophes.

There has got to be a way around this. I've been banging my head on the keyboard for nights trying to get this right. Can anyone offer any insight into how to get the apostrophes into html form so they don't throw these errors? ie... &#039

There really isn't enough time in the month to go through one at a time as so many of my users put the year model of their cars in as '05,'57, etc... I would be plugging away one at a time for a year.

Imports Categories, users, with no issues whatsoever. GREAT! but we have to get past this hurdle.

there kundzon_smf1 is db name of smf. We have standalone smf installation no joomla bridge

Hi, i installed the converter, then i clean all jos_fb_* tables and the jos_user table, the result ws this :

OK...categories and boards imported successfully!

Total users 1610, Inserted of the users...

(NOTE: If inserted is less than actual, it is due to the user having made a post but has since deleted their account. The post will still show up as usual though...)

You may now verify the installation was successful and then delete your SMF files and data.

But the Problem is : no user converted !

nice script but have some errors

1) doesn't insert users
2) doesn't create subforums
2) doesn't saves attachments

any ideas?

You need to first bridge your SMF installation into Joomla... there are several scripts available from Simple Machines to do this - basically you need the Bridge, and first need to sync the users. Because of the difference in hiarchy of subforums, you will need to move them back into the correct place...

As for attachments... if it's not touching them, there might be an issue with the system user they are chowned to... check to ensure that your server allows you to change the ownership - we had the same problem, but went into a command shell, chowned the uploads folder and all content to the user we were using for the install and it worked just fine.
