I run a site (
www.backcountryclub.org) that is hosted on a very restrictive server, that only allows perl-scripting! For this reason, eBlah has really come through for me by creating a very strong and featured perl forum script that uses flat-file storage. However, I'm upgrading the site and moving hosts, so that I'll have access to PHP and MySQL, and my first change is to move to Joomla and this forum script.
eBlah just recently released an SQL-driven forum script, and I'm going to easily convert from flatfile to that script, but I'm not sure how to then move from that forum to this forum. I am considering a multi-conversion process, but I'd really like to keep my users and messages intact. Has anyone made a conversion?
If not, is there a database structure listing for the Fireboard so that I can manually convert the database? I'm presuming this will need to include some serious permissions, etc.
I'm not handy at either perl or PHP script, and I only know the basic GUI manipulation tools for SQL databases. I appreciate all the help I can get.
