A small installation problem... 1 Year, 8 Months ago
I'm sorry if i posted this thread in the wrong category, and for taking a bits of your precious time. I guess this is a joomla problem, but i'm not sure, therefore i post this here.

When i'm tring to install this fabulous forum at my 1.5 BETA Joomla! site using its install function i get this error:

Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 5 seconds exceeded in /var/www/***/users/***/libraries/joomla/filesystem/archive/zip.php on line 315

Any ideas? I've opened the file, and i tried to adjust some parameters, but without any luck. Maybe i changed the wrong ones.

Yeah, 5 seconds is too short. I opened the php.ini file and found the same variabel there, but i can'nt change it. I'm afraid I have to call my webhost and ask them to change it. Cause i can'nt do it, can I?

Thanks for a fairly quick reply, and thoughts around my problem. Ypu can now delete this thread.

Love, Neffets

You can use manual installation, which is in joomla (directory install) that should solve your problem

I tried to install Fireboard comp and got the following error message:

Warning: move_uploaded_file() [function.move-uploaded-file]: Unable to move '/tmp/phpBjPS9V' to '/home/sgmp/public_html/media/component_Fireboard_Forum_1.0.0.zip' in /home/sgmp/public_html/administrator/components/com_installer/admin.installer.php on line 175

Any ideas what the problem is? I am using the latest version of Joomla 1.0.12

Starting off, check the permissions on the Media folder.

Please can you help. Since trying to install Fireboard I can no longer upload any Docman files. I get a file permission error. I can see that the file permissions are read/write access. What do I need to do in order to get my site back, apart from doing a complete restore? I do have a backup, but would rather pursue other avenues first.
