Is there a way to hide the "Child Forums" so they are not listed under the forum on the main page that lists ALL of the categories and forums? Thanks for your help in advance!

It depends on if you want to hide them permanently or allow them to collapse.

Collapsing would require a lot of work, but you can easily hide them through css.

Find "div.fb_thead-child" in your template's forum.css file and add the attribute "display: none;"
