FireBoard very slow? 1 Year, 8 Months ago
Hi

i'm using Joomlaboard on my website www.namibia-forum.ch. I'm changing to a new, faster server. Instead of teh Joomlaboard i would love to run FireBoard. So i installed all the data from the Joomlaboard and the forum ist very slow now. Have a look at www3.namibia-forum.ch

At the beginning there was some memory Problems. So i had to put
php_admin_value memory_limit 256M
in my apache configuration. Now it is running but very slow.

Any hints?

There are 34.222 postings in the forum and about 1300 Users.

Best regards
Chrigu

You have a lot of categories. I think first page of forum little bit slow because of that. When I read messages it is very fast.
This is very fast :
www3.namibia-forum.ch/index.php?option=c...emid=27&func=faq
also
www3.namibia-forum.ch/index.php?option=c...7&id=35090#35090

But main forum page is slower than others.

Other content pages are very light.

Hi,

same Problem to me. I had post it 10 minutes before.
Many categories, round about 35.000 Postings and 750 Users.

Is it too much for FireBoard?

I can´t reduce the Categories or number of postings. More Performance
in selects (or Database-Index ??) would be nice and perhaps fix this problem.

Navigate inside Forum, there are no performance-Problems

This is my browseroutput:

->
Serverfehler!
Die Anfrage kann nicht beantwortet werden, da im Server ein interner Fehler aufgetreten ist.

Fehlermeldung:
Premature end of script headers: index.php

Sofern Sie dies für eine Fehlfunktion des Servers halten, informieren Sie bitte den Webmaster hierüber.

This is correct. It is very fast if you call a posting directly. But to have a list of categories or a list of topics it si very slow, depending on the amount of topics inside a categorie. I don't have this problem with Joomlaboard.
For me it looks like al loop thrue all the articles, counting or marking something.
The big amount of memory i need, indicates a recursion.

Is there anything i can switch off?

Best regards
Chrigu

I check your stats,
But
Total Users: 2 Latest Member: chrigu Total Messages: 34208 Total Subjects: 4458

Maybe transfer was not correctly . you have just one user. is it true?

In my testforum i just added one user. I can try adding the other users to the site. Do you think it will improve the speed?

How many users and how many topics do you have in your board? Is there a link i can check out?

I added the users and updated the DB now. The problem is still the same.
Check this Categorie: www3.namibia-forum.ch/index.php?option=c...=showcat&catid=7
It takes 48 Seconds to view the Page.

The same in Joomlaboard takes 3.25 Seconds:
www.namibia-forum.ch/index.php?option=co...=showcat&catid=7

Some minutes ago my MySQL-Server was down (too many connections). I think, there is a big Bug inside. Perhaps he opens a connection to database and don´t close it. Sorry, I´m not a specialist.

Anyone of developers read this?

Ok, before there was a difference because i was using two servers. Now i have two sites running on one server and checked the time:

FireBoard:
www3.namibia-forum.ch/index.php?option=c...=showcat&catid=7
Time: 47.672s

JoomlaBoard:
www4.namibia-forum.ch/index.php?option=c...=showcat&catid=7
Time: 1.718s

I think there is a big problem with bigger amount of data in the FireBoard
