Try here instead, it looks like someone tweaked it to make it a plugin for mybb
There are instructions for integrating into a couple different forums here as well

I was able to make this one exactly as a Joomla! editor, but it was not doing as well as I expected it.

And what about TMEdit (formerly HTMLArea3 XTD)? The installer is only 193 KB and has all the features what would be required for a forum post WYSIWYG editor.
Term 3 of the License allows you "to modify and extend the Software to fit your needs". It might be a good starting point.
BTW, let me notice that JoomlaCode also provides a WYSIWYG editor for the project forums. They chose FCKeditor.

I have read a few recomendations while searching for "BBCODE WYSIWYG" stating to use a modified version of TMEdit but have not found any instructions to do so or anyone who has done so already.
I am starting to think it might be better once again to use the same editor that the joomla site uses but just only allow basic HTML tags. No script tags, no embed tags, etc. Although without the embed tags you would probably need to use BBcode or a mambot again in order to post videos. It seems both methods have their advantages and disadvantages.

FCK-Editor is what we used before we went Joomla. (ASP)
Our users loved it and the whole site really was alive! We allowed HTML in the forum as well. But of coruse, we are only a small community.
The pros with a real HTML edito is that it is so easy for the users to use it, and insert images and so on.
The FCK-Editor is a good one. I donīt know if the develop it more for PHP since it is an "old" version, 1.20, for joomla they offer for free downloading.
FCK also comes with "skins" so it is easy to change between simple funktions and very advanced as well different layouts.
FCK got my vote for a HTML in Fireboard.
And I really hope it will be there, soon.

I volunteer to make a WYSIWYG Editor for FireBoard. (Yes, I'm insane.) Just give me an outline of what it needs to do: What features do you want? (color, size, links, lists, code, etc.) and I'll work on it. (I'm not making it a HTML based system. Instead, I plan on making something similar to BBCode, just a lot easier, cleaner, and with a WYSIWYG interface.)

hi
no imposible but as u said insane .........
i wish u all the best, what every board needs is the bbcodes here B i u quote code ul ol li url color size ( for me tables also)
it is a lot of work
closer thing to bbcode is XHTML ...[ b ] can be < b > in xhtml .....very close ,,,so dont use html it s not clean
if you are into more advanced scripting, big programmer then go for more browser compatible Editor ...
the smaller the size the best the editor ...
and if you dont know any programing or have no idea how wysiwyg programmed ...you still can do it ...yes ...you can do it ...and while you do it you will learn a lot, new ...wish to be lots of good new things
auday
thanks
