can users delete their own posts? 9 Months, 2 Weeks ago
|
|
|
I'm a new user of Fireboard and need to know how users can delete their own posts when they are no longer required. For example, a user might offer something for sale and would want to remove the post when the item is sold. I would NOT want users to be able to delete OTHER USERS' posts, just their OWN.
I also want some users to pay for their OWN Forum within mine, to offer their services/products to other users. Is there a way to set this up or is it better for me to set up once they have paid?

Don't think that level of control is possible.

So are you saying that once a post has been made, it cannot be removed by the person who posted it - or can it be removed by an Administrator? How does an Administrator remove them?

To be honest I'm not sure now that I think about it. Since I'm always an admin on every Fireboard install I've ever done. Best to create a dummy log in for yourself and see.

I have set up a dummy but cannot see anywhere on the (front-end) interface that allows me to remove posts. When I go into the Forum Administration, I cannot see any links to delete threads, posts etc - is there a place in the backend where I can do this?

Hello, it is possible to delete a post from the frontend if you are moderator...

Thanks. I was hoping that I didn't have to create moderators to allow them to delete their own posts - maybe I was hoping for too much (or maybe I'm not looking at the bigger picture!) - there may be a very good reason why users are not allowed to delete posts.
