No Forum visible 1 Year, 3 Months ago
Hi!

I just made a fresh and brand new installation with Joomla 1.5 and the current fireboard along with community builder.

I wanted to have a couple of categories limited to only certain users. But my problem is that whenever I change the access level to something else than everybody, exept me as the admin nobody else is able to see any forum, category or whatever.
So I now have the problem that the forum is unusable at all. I've read some similar problems appeared after upgrading the forum. But I did a fresh install and I'm also not able to see any of the forums other than the ones that are accessible for everybody.

Does somebody has similar problems? How can I fix that? I really need to get this thing running asap so I'm very glad about any help or suggestion on this!

Thanks!

No, you're not alone. I have Joomla! 1.5RC2 and FireBoard 1.0.3, (without community builder) and I am having the same issue, when I make a forum or category restricted to anyone other than "Everybody" only "Administrator" and "Super Administrator" can view the forum.

For my Joomla!, I give my "certified" users "Author" status, and I want certain Forums to be only accessible by "Author" and greater users. However, right now unless I make my forums available to "Everybody" that signs up to get a login then they're unusable.

This is a real problem. Any ideas on how to fix it?

I have the same problem using fresh installation of Joomla 1.5 and Fireboard 1.03. It is very disappointing to see this functionality broken. Guess I'll play with SMF now.

Still nothing new on that one... I wonder if anyone of the developers had seen this post at all...
Anyway I guess I have to wait for the next release and hope for the best there.....

Define: latest version

1.0.4 does not work with J1.5.x - this is a known issue

We are finalizing 1.0.5 (see the nightly build threads) and it should work there. I encourage you to test and post your feedback in those threads.

Thx!
