Using Real Names 8 Months, 1 Week ago  
I set up Firebord to use real names and disabled usernames. When someone makes a post it uses their real name but under recent posts and new members it still using usernames. I need the whole forum to use real names everywhere.

I am using Joomla 1.5, CB, and latest fireboard.

Also in the back end it's showing usernames and I would like real names, but this is not as important as the front end.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Ditto that. Same prob in Joom 1.0. Only fix I can think of is to dig thru the php files and change references from 'username' to 'user' but that would be a pain, and the changes would be lost upon upgrade. There must be a better way.

My Joomla site attheoffice.trispen.com has been adapted that the users, username is their email address for ease of logging in again. I have the same issue that when going to the fireboard forum that I cannot disable the display of the users email address as username and would prefer to display only the users real name.

Under the configuration setting I do not see an option for changing this setting. What is required to make this change.

I've seen this asked a couple of times, and the answer is not obvious but is nice and simple when you know it! In the back-end just go to Fireboard control panel and Recount Categories Stats to clear the cache and force the configured option for real name/username to be used.

On the recent discussion tab, User name is still shown instead of real name.

Ah well, worked for me (1.5 RC2). Have you definitely changed all the config - I think there are three different settings that involve username or real name display?

If that's not it then you've got me there I'm afraid But then it is only my second day of playing with Fireboard

The problem with this is that directly when a user posts a new post the username for some of the users are shown again instead of their real name. Why is this happening? Do I need to recount everytime someone posts a post?

The latest 1.0.5 RC2 build (817) should have all these issues fixed. If not, please reply in the 1.0.5RC2 thread with a detailed problem description.
