I guess I should clarify. Make sure you aren't using a 1.0.0 template with a 1.0.3 version of FB. They aren't compatible. Some of the 1.0.1 templates weren't either.

Like the original post, I too had the same problem...
It would make sense if the Installation Documentation covered some of these know issues. And to update those issues in some sort of common problems system not just this forum. At times searching can be so problematic that people tend to get lost in searching. Keeping in Mind that the Joomla community is large and issues like this one need to be addressed in a common problem or installation section.
I do like the board with some exceptions, those and in posts to the Joomla Forum these systems are not designed for the average user, they are designed for the person with skill sets which are on a higher level.
It never ceases to amaze me that software is not written to the average user but to the programmer community.
Designers and programmers need to take a hard look at marketability as well as the target audience. By simply doing this would take care of issues like this.
I am a strong advocate of the Open source Ideology; however I do not think that those that write open source should be padded on the back for lack of common issues. But rather they take some time and understand that over 70% of the market is the novice. By novice I do not refer to the person new on the web, I refer to the non programming community which is very large.
I appreciate the Fireboard system however like Joomla feel this is all overbuilt.
There are those that will take offense to this, which is not my intention. It merely to draw attention to the hundreds of thousands of people that are being missed with the overbuilds.
Just my Two Cents...
