Current release of Fireboard

Seeing an odd issue on new installation, once I load the component I get what looks like maybe half the of CSS tags that are working. So the background area in the sections are set to white and the text is set to white.

If I change the template, I get kinda the 'gist' of the template, but again more issues with background setting to some base color like white and the text set to white.

These are the default templates that came with Fireboard.

One issue I did have, which I also can't figure out is an error on installation complaining about not being able to write the image files/dir's under /images/fbfiles and asking me to move them over manually.

I have done that, even tried setting images and fbfiles to 777 and still I always get that error. So I move them over by hand each time, set the permission and ownership.

Any ideas? I am pretty stumped, done the install 5-6 times each with the same result.

Make sure you are using a compatible template if this is an upgrade. It wasn't quite clear.

This is one of the skins that comes with FB right out of the component, so I hope its supported.

Okay. Then you will have to edit the CSS of the template. There are some elements that default to the Joomla template that cause the text to display oddly. This is because thos elements are NOT in the forum.css file of the Fireboard template. Check the stickies in the Graphics & Templates forum on how/where to adjust these.

As for the permissions you can upload a component called JoomlaXplorer to change those directory permissions (I recommened installing it regardless). Failing that you may have to contact your host to CHMOD the directories for you.
