I'd like people to remain anonymous behind their usernames. But you can click on someone's username and see their whole profile, including their real name. So I'd like to switch off access to profiles. It seems an obvious parameter to include in the settings, but I've looked & looked, and I haven't found how to do this

I'm surprised nobody has answered this - I thought there would be a flood of replies. Am I the only person in FireboardLand who finds it odd that profiles are not private?

Use CB to vieuw the profiles. In the configuration manager of CB u can say if a profile is public. U can even determine fields in the profile to show up public (or not).

Yes, I don't have CB installed - don't need it for my type of site. I still haven't found an esay answer, so I'm just going to hard-code it to hide all personal info from the profile when it appears.

For those who want to do the same, you need to edit
/components/com_fireboard/template/default/plugin/fbprofile/summary.php

After line 56 there are all the table rows containing the info shown in the profile summary. Just comment out the rows you don't want people to see...
