OK, I'm getting desperate here. here is my forum: millerperformancecars.com/tech-forum.html

It is the most annoying thing in the world when the user clicks "forum" and is taken to the "all discussions" tab by default. LAME. I need to make it go to Categories. And no methods I have tried works. I can't find the code to change it properly and no one seems to have any suggestions for me.

AS WELL, I thought of trying the Dorona_Brown Template, and it won't install, its missing some XML file. I have had all other templates install fine but this one, any suggestions would greatly be appreciated.

Does anyone have any clue whatsoever?

Templates don't install on FireBoard. You FTP them to the FireBoard templates directory.

I did that as well, and I get a long "shadowfax......crap out message error on line 201" if I try using the template. Maybe it has something to do with a conflict with other things on my site.

No problem. In fact - it's attached... I named the file "default_ex_rejuvinated" only because there are several changes I'd made, including:

• new set of image buttons for "New Thread", "Reply", "Edit", etc... as well as new backgrounds for forum headers


• CSS changes to link colors, tab heights, etc


• link changes in profile.php* to go to JoomSuite's Member component rather than core login/profile


• tab orders and defaults - now has Categories as first tab and default landing page


• several other minor tweaks and fixes to make it more compliant with cross-browser issues and compatibility

IMPORTANT
If you are using this particular template, unzip it to your local drive first, create a new directory via FTP in your com_fireboard/templates directory called "default_ex_rejuvinated" and upload the local files to your newly created template directory for your forum. Then, in your Fireboard configuration set the _rejuvinated template as default for template and images... Voila.

* PLEASE NOTE:
The profile.php page *should* be replaced with the original one from the default_ex template if you are not using JoomSuite Member!!!

What would cause this?

Hmmm - not sure what would cause that... Tell you what - I'm about to leave my office for the evening... As soon as I get home I'll bring up the site and see what I can find out for you... For all I know it *could* be an error in my code that I didn't catch before I sent out the file, but I'll let you know for sure in the next hour and a half or so.

Meanwhile - just before I go... Try FTP'ing into your site, rename the existing default_ex directory as something else (like default_ex_old or something) and rename the default_ex_rejuvinated directory as default_ex.

It may be a proprietary thing that I might have missed and it's looking for a file in the wrong directory. Try that and see if it works, and I'll check back the second I get home.

Had errors with NB8, but updated to NB10 and worked fine.
