Forum width to full screen 4 Months, 2 Weeks ago
Hi all,

After scouring the forum using the search, I finally pieced together what I needed to know about how to stretch the forum to a full screen view.

To do this, you need to disable the side modules from displaying when your forum is viewed. To do this, go to:

Extensions at the top.

Click module manager

On the modules that say "right" or "left" in the list, click on their title to edit them.

In the menu assignment area, click on "Select Menu Item(s) from the List"

Then select the Home module, and if you want it to display anywhere else, hold down the control key, and click on the other menu choices.

Do not click "Forum" or whatever you called your forum link... If you do, then the module will show up when your forum is rendered, squishing everything into the center module... I repeat, do not enable the module for "Forum"!

Click save at the top of the screen.

Do this again for every other module. I have disabled all of my right column modules and left those on the left. If you disable all modules from showing up, your users will not be able to go back to the other parts of the site... this is why I left the left column alone, so people could still navigate on the rest of the website.

Hope this helps save some people some time... I tried to make the title of this thread pretty obvious with keywords so the search will pick it up pretty quickly.

Are you using Joomla! 1.5 or 1.0?

Yes. Disable art.banner.plus and the main menu on the left of your screen when you view the forum. See my 1st post above. Not sure if the menu path is the same as in Joomla 1.5, but the basic concepts should remain the same.

Go to each module in your module manager, and select the areas you want that module displayed. If you want it on every page except the forum, hold the CTRL key down and click on every menu item except your forum.

See screenshot for area to click on for menu assignments.
