I am now running JomSocial from Azrul on my site . Like Community builder it a social network hub and I was wondering is there a hack I can use to at least sync the avatars with fireboard . Thanks for any help on this.

JomSocial is maybe (2) Weeks old so NO!

3rd Party Integration on things that are commercial like Jom Social will probably not be integrated by the Fireboard team. If you need a solution I suggest you start a thread requesting others to join in and all of you put money in together and higher a freelancer.

James thanks for that tip. Yep its 2 weeks old and it is a great SN component. Of course it is not free like CB but it also has a lot of growth potential.
Well that is a bummer would of loved to stay with a component for my boards but I may just switch back to phpBB 3 . I have been looking at the work they are doing with the bridges especially Rocketwerx and Jfusion and if I am not going to have a fully intergrated system I might as well have one that I can do some core hacks to . I have heard that there are teams working on syncing the forum already. Well that is the advantage of a huge community that they have. Well now to look for a converter for the forums

My honest and best suggestion would be to do what I have mentioned in other post and start a new thread and call it JomSocial/Fireboard Integration Funds or something to that effect.

Then from within the thread describe what you had in mind being done and let people go to you with similar needs. Once you have say 5 - 10 fellow contributors find out what your budget would be to have the integration made. Then head on over to www.joomlancers.com and post your project.

If you work as a group your cost will be significantly reduced.

Depending on your needs it should cost no more than $500 or so to be completely integrated.

JS is actually charging a huge money for their component.
Atleast $150 is quite a big money for me.

Joomla, FB, CB all are FREEs, but not JS.

So, I suggest you to contact JS for support for which they are getting the money.

I agree, as much as those folks are charging they should be able to provide common integrations such as Fireboard or their product is virtually worthless. << No offense to them!

However I recently received a news letter from them stating they will be making trips to Joomla Expos in California and Colorado so they must be making some money to afford these kind of trips. Also, may "Commercial" Joomla developers are teaming up these days to make their products more available.

I would be careful getting wrapped up in these schemes especially since Community Builder, Fireboard, Groupjive.. etc are all free!

If you feel like blowing money, make a donation to one of these groups in an effort to help them provide a better product.

Again like I said in another thread I have fully supported open source free projects by donations for example groupjive and ohhh yea 50 for community builder 1.2 ( so much for that being free .. right )and several other joomla projects along the way. Never once did or have I asked for anything in return no donations for my site no nothing. However this time I chose to buy a product that has support I am sick of getting no support. No offense. And yes they are working on making applications to help integrate systems.

But I figured Fireboard, hey this is a community like phpBB right. People help each other with problems right. That it does not matter if you purchased a solution as long as you are willing to help with the community right. naaaaaaa I guess i am wrong .

I respect the free idea but a lot of people are just full of it. Half the people who have screamed freedom never once donated to help those working on those projects out.

All I asked if any one had an idea of a hack to help me out .

And we all kindly replied but also mentioned that the creators of JomSocial (Azrul Team) should provide integration themselves. Noone bashed your thread.

I have also mentioned in another thread similar that it would be just as easy to gather a group of JomSocial users together and higher a Freelancer to build some sort of bridge or hack to merge the two together. But I have yet to see a thread stating this was going to be done.

As for Community Builder - it is free CB1.1 go download it, and if your reffering to CB1.2 then you should read before speaking. It is available to Document Subscribers right now and Dec 6th it should be released to the public at no cost. << this can be viewed at Joomlapolis frontpage.

As for being a community, that is exactly what we are but we are not here to babysite other peoples ideas and help them make money. (JomSocial)

We have many other things to do (like bringing stable version of F rather than writing codes to make other rich who doesn't even share their ALPHA version
