"Not working" doesn't tell us much other than you're having a problem. Probably the reason no one has responded is that we lack information necessary to assist you.

I'm having this exact same problem!

Tell me if you find something, please!

Maybe some more info could help, this is what I get:

The error happens while creating a new post (or replying or editing), page loads fine (looks fine) but at the state bar in the bottom, there is a message: "Ready but with errors in the page", almost everithing works well in the post form, the post can be made but you can't use BB Code (none of the buttons), smilies, or the preview button, as soon as you try anyone the state bar message changes to: "Error in the page" and nothing happens.

You can see it at my webpage: http://www.versionti.com/FVM, this is a temporal URL as it is not released yet. The forum is under "Soporte Técnico" Menu and "Foro" stands for Forum in spanish. All my webpage is in spanish including Joomla and Fireboard. if you need a test user try this one:

username: test user
password: testuser

Hope this helps to find out the answer. if there is something else I could try like debugging or logging something, let me know and please, tell me how, as I know almost nothing about web coding.

I have solved my problem... It was part of code left by captcha_securityimages component that I previusly installed, the code had an error I guess, so as soon as I removed manually (the difficult part was to find where to do it) it became everything fine.

If you just wonder where did I removed the code, it was in:

/components/com_fireboard/sources/fb_bb.js.php

And I found out about it using Firefox, Firebug and ViewSourceWith.

Hope this helps...

Unfortunately, i wasn't very successful by looking at the code and find out what needs to be changed or removed.
Could you please describe a bit more in detail what needs to be done in the fb_bb.js.php file or elsewhere?

Well, is kind of difficult as the code that was causing the error for me is already gone. Besides, that was for my particular problem, that was about the code left by the SecurityImages Component. If thats your problem or it's somehow related, this is what I did.

  • Backup any file before you change it

  • Reload the page with your browser, try not to move the cursor above items giving you trouble,

  • After loading, refer to the errors reported by your browser, and try to figure out the text causing that error, in my case "com_securityimages" was part of that text,

  • One way to do it is by looking at the line number of the error, and looking for that line in the sorce code of the webpage, or using the tools for firefox I mentioned in an earlier post,

  • Use a tool to search text inside your files (I had to copy all the files from my webpage to my desktop and used Windows Grep, but there must be better ways to do that,

  • Review each file with that text in it, and look if that is the exact line of code reported in the error,

  • Did you backup that file?

  • Look around and carefully remove the code giving you that error (it was about 4-5 lines for me),

  • Handle it with care, I must said you should backup before anything and good look!!!

Hope this helps!
