Hi all.
Something odd is happening on my fireboard. When there are new posts on a thread, the (NEW!) isn't always showing up. It does sometimes, but usually when it does it is on a thread which I have already viewed.
A few of my users are getting this same problem, but it doesn't seem to be all of them.

I am trying to work out if it is browser related, but so far it is a mix between IE, firefox and the mac browser.

Any help would be really appreciated, as a lot of my users keep the forum open and just hit refresh or click on the 'forum' link up the top to refresh and see if there are new posts.

Okay been searching and searching, have found a few posts which mention a 'NEW! post indicator' patch, but none of the links work.

Any help would be hugely appreciated as it is really starting to annoy my members.

Haven't read it yet, but thought I would say I have found it.

If I am searching for something, I generally just use the search form to find what I am after, although no matter how many searches I did on everything from 'NEW!" to 'NEW! indicator problem' and everything in between, I never turned up the huge thread about it in the Problems solved forum!!! I just happened to be having a read of it and found it...

Okay, 34 pages is a lot. The conclusion I came to is that evn if it is marked as 'Solved' it doesn't seem to be.

Can anyone out there help me? It is driving me insane, I have spent hours on this already.

It was working fine when I was testing the forum. The problem seems to be in the last few days. Trying to work out what I have changed, but it's mainly been css stuff

I know I am harping on this, but it is a really big issue for my board, and I really need to get it fixed.

This is an awesome board, I've always ran SMF but not bridged because it would always cause trouble and not really integrate as I wanted it to, and now I have a board for Joomla that I really really like, but this problem has to be fixed!

34 pages should tell you that this problem is not so easily fixed. The hacks provided either worked (to an extent) or did not at all. It is a flaw in the way FB handled sessions. There is no easy fix other than to rewrite the FB core. Hopefully FB 1.1 alpha addresses that.

Yes I have read the 34 pages, and worked out that it is not easy to fix. Although I also see it is working for this forum (well it is for me), and it seems that people have got it to work with some of the patches.

The thing is that it was working for about the first week it was installed, and then not. I also read that thread to be most people were having the trouble with the 1.0.3 version and it was addressed in version 1.0.4, but I have 1.0.4.
