Why I can't make a new thread in my forum??? 4 Months, 1 Week ago
Hi

I made a forum. It worked fine, but now it's not possible to make a new post. If I select a forum it doesn't show the contents! It redirects to the category.

I've reinstalled the hole fireboard and deleted the databases.
Why it's not going?

Here's a link to the forum: www.swiss-development.ch/sd/index.php?op...temid=41&lang=en

Regards

Daniel

You haven't created any categories or topics. It says that right there on your forum. If you have make sure they are published.

I created categories. I made some tests so the categories didn't show for some seconds. I made the forum now public (read/write) but it's not working...

I don't see any topics for those categories. You only have categories and no topics. You can only post to a topic. Not a category.

A topic is a thread. That's my question. I can't create a thread/topic. I made categories with forums in there. So when I click on a forum it pushes me to the main forum screen.

Hi, I experienced that too. I created my categories and even updated to the latest version but I still can not find the button to create or post a new thread. I only figured it out after 4 hours of uninstalling and installing fireboard combined with visiting this forum with no answer.

Here's the solution: You must first create a parent category. For example create the name "Parent Forum" or whatever name you like (this shouldn't have a parent because this will serve as the parent ). Then edit the parent of your existing categories (or create one) to "Parent Forum". The button to create or post a new thread will now appear after reloading your browser.

Sample Structure:

Parent Forum
... Category 1
... Category 2
... Category 3
Parent Forum 2
... Category 4
... Category 5
... Category 6

Sample Structure of BestofJoomla

Best of Joomla <-- This is the parent category
...Announcements & News
...Template Showcase Discussion
... etc.
Fireboard Forum
...Latest Release
.......Conversions
.......Fireboard Modules
....... Etc.
...Add Ons
...Etc.

Hope this helps.
