problems creating a private forum 3 Months, 3 Weeks ago
I have used fireboard before but I recently upgraded to Joomla 1.5 and reinstalled fireboard. I wanted to create a private section of the forum but no matter what settings I use, it seems that either everyone can see it or no one can see it. When I was trying to fix this I managed to completely delete the private part of the forum by changing the parent category. My private forum is still listed when you click on "prune posts" so I'm not sure if it is hidden somewhere.

In the midst of all this, I had to sync my users because they were not all showing up on the user list. Now they are showing up but when you click on the forum it lists every forum as having "no posts" even though when you click on the forum they are all in there. I have looked through all the documentation I can find and can't find a solution to either problem. Any ideas?

There is no such thing as a private forum with the latest version of fireboard!

You can set min. permission levels so that users have to have a certain user-level to access the forum. At least that is the was it should work but it isn't. I've given up on that for now. I'm going to use a different forum program that will do what I need it to do for my writers.

I need to figure out how to get my existing forum back to normal though. when you click on the forum, all of the categories say "no posts" even though there are posts in them. They also list "0" as the number of posts in each category. Is this a setting that needs to be fixed?
