This build contains various SQL and other fixes.
NEW bbcode config settings
NEW Parser features: trim long URLs (no need for a mambot any longer - can be switched off)
NEW auto embed features: convert most youtube and ebay urls into embedded flash player (can be switched off)
NEW My Discussions tab for default_ex: See you favorites and all threads you ever replied to
Major SQL improvements - Cut 30-40% of SQL calls on Recent Discussions and new My DIscussions tabs
Major rework: Forum permissions check re-written. Saves SQL calls and should work all over the board including search.
New little feature: You can embed eBay items just like videos inside a user post.
We have also added an initial version of a Dev Team Credits page. This will be updated for the final release.
New hide and spoiler tag implementation
Legacy config file support - in addition to the database config, an old style config file is created
Message text tooltips for default_ex on recent discussions and categories
Various CSS and template fixes for default_ex - template scales now in various sizes
Spoiler tag added to editor toolbar

You can find the install packages in the 'UnderDevelopment' folder.

While we don't do documentation on the nightly builds here a few tips to get you going:

This latest build does a full install or upgrade of virtually any prior FireBoard release, without manual intervention. No need to run SQL scripts of any sort.

IF you want to preserve the configuration information of a prior install (1.0.0, 1.0.1, 1.0.2, 1.0.3, 1.0.4) you must first install and run the fbconverter component. See here: www.bestofjoomla.com/component/op...38/catid,6/id,53567/
(Not required for test sites upgrading from the prior nightly build)

Once you have run the converter make sure you backup, backup, backup and once again

THIS IS A BETA BUILD - PROCEED WITH CAUTION ON PRODUCTION SITES!

Once you have a good backup, backup, backup simply uninstall the current version of FireBoard on your test server.

The rest is identical for both install and upgrade.

Install the latest com_fireboard package through the joomla component installer. During the install the installer will recognize whether this is a fresh install or and upgrade and will perform the required tasks including all SQL upgrades to the database.

We have added a lot more error checking to the database portion of FireBoard to quickly know about failing queries that would have been skipped over in most prior releases and nobody knew about it. So if you get an error message from a database call, we consider that helpful at this point in time, as it tells us what went wrong rather than hiding it from you and us. Just make sure you get us the detailed information of the error message.

Overall we have put several hundred hours into 1.0.5 so far. We have fixed several hundred bugs - from minor to major. This is by far the best release of FireBoard ever.

Thanks a lot in your help testing these pre-builds! Please make sure you share all the versions of products/packages you are using when reporting a problem. Most issues are related to specific versions and are virtually impossible to find without that.

I did the spanish lang file for NB10, added the new text in 1.05 and Default_Ex template, missed any onther place?

I still have the problem with long text in 'code' tag (j1.5.5,FB1.0.5NB10,JACorona skin in j!, Default_Ex in F It does happen also with 'default' skin


I also have a request, if possible and not that hard, could we mark in 'my discussions' whose threads the user created? maybe we could add a threadstarter icon before them?

That file has not bee touched in about 12 months. No syntax error in it either. Can you check whether your file is good?

ok, i unzip and reupload this file. now its ok. dunno why this happend. maybe while installation process uploading..

Great build, it seems that it solves the problem with move option, joomla 1.5.5 and sh404sef. I guess it wasn't a sh40sef problem since with this build the problem is solved, now clicking a ghost message will go to the moved topic in the corect category. I see that ghost message doesn't appear in category view now which is good.

I'm sure that you can fix the other issues I've signaled if you want because I'm not sure that is entirely shs404sef problem. Bu sure it's up to you, maybe have other priorities.


btw: In opera, preview is not working, when i click preview, it just appears the loader and post never appear, the loader image it just staying there

I found some problems
1.Whenever you click the last post from a child board, it goes to the main forum.And it is not sh404sef fault because it's the same with joomla sef system enabled
2.Basically any usage of dropdown menus will result in a 404 error.
3.I'm not really sure why the option to move a ghost message is really there.

I'm using sh404sef and joomla 1.5.5

Those are all classical sh404SEF issues. (except for the ghost)

Make sure you clear ALL cached URLs in sh404SEF. Might want to recreate your sitemap after that to warm the cache.
Any URL formats that have changed one way or another and are still cached in sh404SEF will result in 404s.

BTW We never fixed any of the links surrounding ghost messages - as I said before these are sh404SEF issues.
We only hide them in some of the views.

I too run sh404SEF on my own site but I always follows these steps or parts of the site become unuseable.

Tested it with Opera 9.51 and it works... can you give us some info for reproducing it?

If you have the time, please update the wiki. Or should I do it?
