TOPIC: (SOLVED) Major problems with install
#59723
Re:Major problems with install 2 Months ago
And here we go - another problem has arisen.

I basically can't write anything to the forum because I can't see any option to do so.

I'm terribly confused by the user interface on the front-end - and I might as well put it out there for anyone reading this that the UI for my entire site blows, and I'm looking to hire someone to just integrate in a smooth UI all of the functionality if you're interested.

All help appreciated.

To get what I'm talking about you might have to register to the site - it's www.ericrobertbarry.com, and the link is in the left-hand user menu titled "board".

Thanks,
Eric

@GoremanX

What version of MySql are you running?

It look slike you are on an officially unsupported MySQL version. MySQL has declared 3.0 - 4.1 as depreciated and no longer supported.

The server I'm currently on runs mysql 4.0.16. I'm due to have the sites moved to a new server that has mysql 5 within the next couple days. I've been running with this old version for countless years now, and it's the first time I've come across any kind of incompatibility as a result. I never would've guessed that the mysql version would be at fault.

Thanks! I'll try installing again when my sites are moved to the new server.
