as stated, fxstein is out in a trip. Yours is not a bug, is a problem with your install.

Besides taht, you failed to supply information about your site (joomla version, php version,...), nor an admin account to be able to investigate.

That said, your error is pretty strange, and seems something was not done correctly in some step, in some db administration, or in some modding...

I would recommend to unistall and reinstall RC1 and see if it works again...

Sorry guys - no vacation. This was a business trip. Unfortunately I got food poisioned the very first night. Classy dinner, still. Here I am back home on serious antibiotics. Recovery is going well, but it will take ma a couple more days. I am migrating my site to a new server tonight. Once I am done with that, I will pick the last round of bugs and fixes posted here and call it 1.0.5.

GREAT! Can't wait to have those bugs fixed. (Especialy Username thing that is killing me)
And maybe if I'am allowed to make a little request:
*Delete topic option
*Custom ranks be treated as user groups, wich you can give permissions to access different forums!
*Make an option to deactivate this mail announcement about a new post.
*We allready have Public Read/Write in Configuration, but I would like to give public permission to write in a certain area of the forum.

And make a new design for Boardcode if you can....

I had RC1 installed and uninstalled it through admin control panel install/uninstall components. Then I installed the RC2. The three or four forums that I had up with no posts in them are show up in RC2. I can edit them and all that but when I create a new forum and assign a moderator to it through FB forums admin, select the forum, then scroll down and check the moderator I want, and click save it does not apply the moderator I selected.
I installed RC2 to my testsite, after RC1 and found no problem creating new forums and adding new moderators to forums. So your problem is not bug in the code.

Try to uninstall and reinstall as johnnydement adviced.

Nice to read that fxstein is back online

Hi fxstein, I am proposing to check version of mysql & maybe php and throw installation message if there is problem. Also write this installation message in fireboard backend. Cause many times, it's source of problems, which are identified on support forum.

Im not asking for sarcasm here. I have a legit issue here and your being a dick. We are supposed to report bugs and I am and am getting no response so what the hell is the point of searching for bugs if no one will answer.

Dick. Fine. I'll take that. I understand you must resort to name calling because you're frustrated. But did you even try searching on how to do a clean install? There's a sticky that outlines the process. Also learn the correct definition of a bug. Just because yu do something wrong doesn't make it a bug. For someone with "a number of years in site development" that was a pretty rookie mistake.

fxstein, I hope you took into account mahagr's suggestions and don't know if you had time to look at preview and drop down menu problems (associated with sh404), among them
www.bestofjoomla.com/component/option,co...w/catid,45/id,61740/
Only disabling sh404 (or disabling it for fireboard), both work...I know it's a sh404 problem, but I am wondering if it is a matter of just a few lines of code on sef_ext file...

I am resorting to calling johnnydement a dick because every forum I have posted in he has done nothing but talk down the team and get everyone nowhere.

Johnnydement in response to your last post to me php version in none relevant however I will give you that joomla version is.

Fxstein I am sorry to hear about your situation. I hope you get well soon. I am just letting you know that I am running the newest version of 1.5.8 stable and am having an issue with 1.0.5. You can read about it on the page before this one. If you need my login info then tell me and I will send you and only you a pm as Johnnydement has been nothing but an issue.

Thanks for all your hard work
