Found 4 errors/bugs

1. - Rss doens't work for me, gives me an<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
^ error

2. - having site links in your sigt namen at the bottom of every mesage gives an error

3. using multiple smilies in one topic gives error:
/wii-media.nl/components/com_fireboard/template/default_ex/images/english/emoticons/cool.png" alt="" style="vertical-align: middle;border:0px;" />

4. when setting the site administrator lanuage to another language (for me dutch) the smilies wont show up in the fireboard backend.

Joomla: 1.5.7
Fireboard: 1.0.5rc2
Template: default_ex
Forum can be found here: wii-media.nl/index.php/forum

See attached image for more info

Fixed problem 2,3 and 4, this is what i did:
Downloaded the folder wii-media.nl/components/com_fireboard/template/default_ex/images/english and changed the folder name to dutch. Than uploaded it again in the wii-media.nl/components/com_fireboard/template/default_ex/images/ folder.
After that al smilies were show up in the backend again and then I deleted al the smilies and added them again with difrent shortcuts.

I still havent fixed the rss error, but that isn't a huge problem

The language thing is basically because FB is looking for these images (ranks and smileys) in your dutch language image folder, that you may not have. Easy fix is just to copy and rename english image folder renaming to dutch (use the same name you use for your language.php file

Hello,

I've just upgraded my forum from 1.0.5RC1 to 1.0.5RC2, and it's quite cool with new stuff and better functionnality.

However, I wonder if I am the only one who can't preview any message before posting. (since 1.0.5rc1). I use Firefox 3.

And also, I am still not able to delete my own posts.
One suggestion for message deletion, would be that the author of a post should always be able to delete his own posts, except in the case where all these conditions are met :
- The post is the first of a thread AND
- The thread contains more than a specified number of messages (the number can be specified in back end)

I think this could be a big and awaited improvement.

Thanks for all your work.

I would say that allowing the deletion of posts should be optional.

I have tested this, & looks good, but I still WON'T be upgrading to this version yet, as their is no Private forum, something we use a lot on our site. (Like a Staff Room area)
Will this feature be in 2.0? as I won't upgrade the site to J1.5 till it is.
If it is, will I have to upgrade to 1.05 (Loose the Private forum) then upgrade to 2.0, then the private forum comes back? I can't be the only one that uses this feature that is already in 1.04, I think it is a shame it has been dropped for the upgrade.

Saying that, it does look good & it has come leaps and bounds, just I won't be leaping till this feature is back in.

BTW, will there be a facility in 2.0 for a Poll in Fireboard (sorry if this has been asked already)

I had hoped RC2 would solve the issue of user names still showing (see www.bestofjoomla.com/component/option,co...w/catid,77/id,59655/) but I still have that issue
In the category listings the moderator is still shown by username not realname. See nbnm . eu.

Btw Discussbot also has an issue with this. When I post in the forum the realname is shown, but when I use Discussbot 108d to post the username is shown. I'll post about that in the Discussbot forum..

There are private forums, just not custom private ones, they are provate based on user ranks in joomla
Yes, in 2.0, if you see the screencast, forums will have ranks independent of joomla, and their permits will be fully customizable
Yes, you will ahve to pass throught FB1.0.5 to update to FB2.0.

Yes there will be a poll feature, it will be a plugin, made by iosoft

Many thanks for that, my ranks are Fireboard based, & not Joomla. Guess I'll have to wait. Unless I get a 3rd party plugin for Joomla, then assign a new group in Joomla then I might have the private forum I wish.

The preview bug is a regression. My appologies. I was too quick jumping at a fix that got posted to allow UNICODE previews. Applied it and missed the fact that it broke the regular reviews. I will have to back this out again.

As for deletes: This is new logic that is currently not planned for 1.0.5. We are only finishing up fixes and are trying to avoid new functionality at all cost as it just introduces new bugs. Sorry about that.

I agree. I have my moderators in a private forum as well. Has been possible with several version of FireBoard. Only if you need multiple private forums for multiple different groups of users do you need the hack.
