upgrade failed, what now? 1 Year ago

Hi, I just saved my database and uploaded the new version of Fireboard. I had 1.0.0 and upgraded to 1.0.3 as the pdf readme instructed, replacing the old files with the new ones, creating the folder for pics in "images" etc.
Now I have no more posts on the forum, the Treads are shown empty. In Backend, I see the Forums and categories, but they are all eXed out (marked "Gesperrt", closed). I cannot open them again, how do I do this? They are all published, but won't show in frontend.
Also, there seem to be problems with the update since I have cryptic displays, thus it might come from the german translation missing those new topics. Where do I get new german language files?
also strange: all links containing the word "Link" have been changed to _link_ -as in this: click this _link_ -how can this be reverted?

You did not run the SQL successfully. I will move this to the Upgrade forum. There you will find 2 stickys at the top of that forum that cover the upgrade process in every detail.

hi, SQL was the thing, jupp. Now it is up and running. Only letdown: all the settings made in fireboard went abord. That is really not what I expect of an update; now my board members are mad because all settings are different, and stupid me did forget to write down such things as the titles of the ranks etc. There should be a warning that though this is an update and the database and all posts will be accessabe after updating, the fireboard itself is totally rebooted, all settings set back to default.
Another good thing would be to further split the program code from the template. This way updating the Software would not mean to rework the layout (well, I copied it back into the layout folder, but with updates also come new files inside of the Template, the template Folder should be layout only, no content, and no program code with functions...)
actually as it is with joomla itself; updating it will not reset my design to default.
