I know this is probably a simple solution, but I have tried everything and now I am stuck!

I didn't orginally mean to do a clean install, but I cocked up! And basically I decided to install a Fireboard via a clean install.

I cleaned off the old version, did the myphp stuff and cleaned up the directories.

I then installed the component. The configuration still looks as though the records of previous posters is still there! Then, when I try to create a new board I am unable to and receive the message:

fbforum::tore failed Unknown column 'class.sfx in 'field list' SQL=INSERT INTO jos_fb_catergories .....


I am now totally stuck as to how to get the thing up and running so any help please!!

You didn't drop the necessary database tables. All you did was reinstall Fireboard. Check the stickies at the top of this forum to answer any upgrade issues you are having.
