thanks for all the inputs.

I am sure my installed fb 1.0.4 is from bestofjoomla directly, so I'm wondering how to remove the WYSIWYG editor that my fb 1.0.4 seemingly has?

thanks again!

Now that you have reinstalled the forum, the WYSIWYG edit is gone. That's good.

As for the distorted post screen: Your php code is all messed up. Just like I said before: It looks like you used an ftp client with incorrect settings when you uploaded the files.

I've come across two cosmetic issues with 1.0.4:

1. Quoted text does is no longer highlighted. See screenshot. I'm using the default profile but tried the others and have the same results.

2. The release notes indicated full bbCode support in signatures. I tried [center] and it didn't have any impact on the output.

Any suggestions?
TIA

1.) What template are you using? The highlighting seems to work fine for me on 6 different installs with J1.0.13 as well as J1.5

2.) We should be more speciifc I guess. Full FB bbCode support, that does not mean all bbCode tags that exist out there, just the ones supported by FB at the moment. And all of those should work in posts as well as signatures.

if i may to share with my experience with the "distorted post screen".. it appears that it was an incomplete ftp upload.. what i did was re-uploaded the complete files again making sure it's 100% uploaded.. now my site just successfully upgraded to fireboard 1.0.4.. no more distorted fb layout..

I didn't upload the fb package through FTP. Just like every component I installed, I installed fb 1.0.4 from the backend component installer.

thanks

I'm using the default template with the "Use Joomla Style" flag set to "NO" (in case that matters.) I've actually tried all of the pre-installed templates and they all return the same results.

Tried re-loading the files 3 times via 2 different FTP apps and the output hasn't changed any.

2.) We should be more speciifc I guess. Full FB bbCode support, that does not mean all bbCode tags that exist out there, just the ones supported by FB at the moment. And all of those should work in posts as well as signatures.

Thanks for clarifying.

Did you use any plugin or software to open and save those files? Something must have corrupted them, and the WYSIWYG editor option did not insert itself into the code either.

tjkraz,

Did you upgrade a prior version or perform a new install?

Thx!

Upgrade.

Version 1.0.3 was the original install about 2 weeks ago.

I tried two different FTP apps to copy the 1.0.4 files and made sure that all of the file copies were set to overwrite. I tested a few of the fixes noted and they appear to be working ("NEW" posts flag & Mark all read button, no more double load, etc.) The only problem I seem to be experiencing is this quoting issue.

So the 1.0.3 package was the initial install? Let me try that here. Most of my installs are either upgrades from several versions or fresh 1.0.4 installs.
