SOLVED: Upgrade Error to Fireboard 1.0.5 RC1 2 Months, 2 Weeks ago  
I tried to update my Fireboard forum to version 1.0.5RC1, but i'm getting an error message as per below. The current version of my fireboard is 1.0.4

Code:

        * Component Install: Another Component is already using directory: "/homepages/27/d221913723/htdocs/washnplay/components/com_fireboard"
        * Component Install: Another Component is already using directory: "/homepages/27/d221913723/htdocs/washnplay/administrator/components/com_fireboard"


I have the following components installed already

Seyret
Community Builder
JoomlaComment

I also did run the com_fbconverter_v1.0.5RC2.

should i just overwrite the the files using ftp ? I did the patch update through extension> install/uninstall menu.

Did you uninstalled FireBoard 1.0.4? If you uninstalled it, then you should have file access to the server and delete the directories manually.

Following steps are necessary for update:
- install FBConverter to convert the settings
- if succeeded then unistall FBConverter
- uninstall FB 1.0.4
- install FB 1.0.5

After running the converter you must uninstall the prior FireBoard version in Joomla.

Please check the detailed description in the README it covers this pretty well.

i did not uninstall the 1.0.4 version. but before I proceed, i'm only uninstalling the component side correct ? I did read the installation readme file but just making sure I don't delete the complete database/files that's already in the old forum.

Fxstein is pretty thorough. If you follow the readme he provided exactly you will be fine.

Then maybe you should check over at Joomlopolis as well to see if they have a fix? They are the developers of CB. Not BoJ.

Sounds like the original upgrade error has been resolved. The CB integration is a separate topic, important I understand but separate from the FireBoard install issue you had. I will mark the original issue as SOLVED.
