I have posted twice about database errors and such with no replies. I am not faulting the developers here for that as I know they are very busy. However, my site is almost unsurfable. One of the posts is at this LINKY.

My next step is to umm downgrade until I can figure out if this is a host issue/ database timeout, etc...

How do you downgrade from 1.0.5rc2 back to 1.0.4?

I have Joomla 1.0.15, CB 1.1 and I just need to get my site to stop giving me all those errors such as these below:

Error 503 - Service Temporarily Unavailable
This error means that the web server is currently unable to handle your request due to a temporary overload. Please try to reload the webpage in a few seconds.

Do you have a backup of the site/database prior to upgrading? If so just restore it.

I did the upgrade weeks ago and it was working fine, and then the above errors started happening. I still can't get a straight answer out of the host as to what SQL we have. I went to their KB and it told me to make a phpinfo page and on the page where it says Client API, the version of sql would be listed there. It listed it as 5.0.45 and so I felt safe to do the update. Now, weeks later my site is crippled by the DB errors. When I looked again, I saw this Client API library version 4.1.22. So I am really confused as to what that means, am I over the 5.0 requirement or am I under...sigh?

I do not want to loose my last 2 weeks of posts. I would like to go back to 1.0.4 for now, and maybe shop around for a new host, as I think they are the problem. There are others at siteground complaining about the Fatal error: Unable to retrieve latest post.nDB function failed with error number 2006 MySQL server has gone away. I don't know why but others are experiencing DB timeouts as I am.

Do I uninstall the 1.0.5r2 and then reinstall the full 1.0.4? Will that work, or has my DB been irrevocably changed with using the FB converter on the upgrade? I really could use some feedback here as I have never had a site have issues like this before.

i tried 1.05 rc2 very quickly and something botched up on the live site

in a panic i uninstalled the rc and reinstalled 1.04 and it works fine

but i had to reset all the options

im now going to try rc2 again on my local server, to see if i cant figure out what happened in my own time, instead of

My problem was the database was not at level 5. It worked OK for a few weeks and then my DB would error alot. So make sure you have a high enough level database. I checked on that with my host and they straight out lied to me. So, I have moved my site...and said by by to the old hosts!
