Ok, I use version 1.0.2 - the latest downloadable version i think.

I did it like you told me: components/com_fireboard/category_images
An in this folder i give the images 503_notlogin.gif ; 503_on.gif and 503_off.gif

My Category ID is 503 i think.
When i do a mouseover on my category name so it shows the following URL:
my domain... /index.php?option=com_fireboard&Itemid=1132&func=showcat&catid=503
So i think the category ID is 503.
Right?

I did it that wy but there is still the default Category Image. I cleanded the Cache - everything, but i don't work.

I have managed to work out the category images, the catID has nothing to do with the backend ids, its the frontend ids you want also the images don't have to be 48x48 they can be just about any size
