Hi,
I just installed FB on my Joomla! site and I am very happy with it.

I was trying to change the look of the Generic Folders that represt the Categories and the subForums. So I searched and found some posts like:

I followed that to the letter but I still can't see my icons. All I get is these generic folders instead of my icons that I transfered to components/com_fireboard/category_images/.

1. My question is, what am I missing? (forget aout CACHE memory cause I made sure to eliminate that possibility by using another PC and clearing my cache memory.)

2. There might be a possibility that I am looking at the wrong place, so my question is: The icons for these categories are supposed to show on the Front Page (the very first page of the Forum)? or is there somwehere else that I have to look to see them? Please see attached file

Second, I failed to see the difference between the 2 posts. Both instructions are identical and are the same ones I followed.

Am I missing soething?

just to be sure: You named the category image as described in both postings, correct? And you made sure that your category ID is equal to the prefix you used to name your icons?

The picture you attached shows some folder icons. I don't know this template you are using at the moment so I assume those images are the default ones, correct?

I should add that I didn't use customized category images so far, however did you check which version you are using? Danh talks about the folder category_images folder in fbfiles! This folder can be found in the default Joomla images folder and as far as I know this folder hasn't been available in FB versions lower than 1.0.1 or even 1.0.2RC2.

Yes my category ID is equal to the prefix .... all is kosher.


The template i am using (attached picture) is called KimKin 1.0.1b, the images are not the default ones.


fbfiles folder was not there, I craeted it under images and placed the icons there but it still did not work.


One mistake I could have done though is that when I initially installed FB, it said version 1.0.0 so I tried uninstlling the component and it got messy. I had to delete the folder (components/comp_fboard) myself to be able to install 1.0.1 beta. And when I installed it, it did not ask for Clean or Upgrade. All the previously created Categories and child forums were there.

I am willing uninstall and go through the whole process again IF it solves it. However I have a feeling that the uninstall of FB is not a clean one.

Any suggestions?

found them in /public_html/images/fbfiles/category_images/

When you uninstall drop the fireboard tables from the database or rename them to something else.
