Is there documentation that outlines moderators? 4 Months, 2 Weeks ago
Hi,

I just finished moving my Forum over to Fireboard and would like to assign moderators to each Forum category. I can't find documentation on how to set them up (though that looks relatively simple) or if there is a way to set what moderators are allowed to do.

Can anyone point me in that direction? Thanks!

Have you found the answer to this? I can find no means of assigning a moderator to a forum.

Having configured the forum to require a moderator, there should be a button appear to allow you to assign a moderator(s) but it does not appear anywhere. At present, it seems that only the Administrator is asigned automaically.

Any ideas please?

Yeah, in the back end of Joomla on yor administrator panel. If you go to Forum Administration, make sure the Moderated option is set to Yes.

Then go to User Administration. Click on the user you want to be a moderator. That will open a screen where you can assign whichever categories or forums you want that user to be a moderator for.

Then that person can edit and delete posts as they see fit.

I found the answer:

In User Management, edit a user details and a) make Rank Title = moderator b)n the Moderation section, click on (i.e. HIGHLIGHT) the category/forum they are to moderate c) Save changes

I've figured out how to assign moderators, but where are the controls to delete or edit a person's post? I'm unable to find where to do that. I want to delete some threads and I can't.

Thanks!

Log in (fronte-end) and, assuming you are moderator or administrator, view the thread you want to delete. You'll see controls, including a delete button, below the thread to delete. You could aso use the Prune option within the Fireboard control panel (back end) Components > Fireboard Forum.
