[solved]adding a forum 9 Months, 3 Weeks ago
ok, I am new to joomla, and don't 100% understand mysql yet, but I am trying to add forums topics in fireboard 1.04 (stable) and it gives me an error. the error is attached to this message. I basically just installed community builder, then installed fireboard right after... I was hoping that fireboard would integrate the sql for me....like it should have, but on installation it gave me "write" erros, but also said install successful not sure if this has anything to do with it.

Please, when you respond be kind, and be "less cryptic" with me and help walk me through how to get this implemented.

If it helps with the answers my site is; www.musiqcentral.com and I have the forums set up as a registered user. Thank you, and I hope you can help me... a very novice user

Go to Joomla's control panel. Components>FireBoard. If there is an option to do a fresh install or upgrade from Joomlaboard chose the first one.

ok, went to the admin panel, went to components > fireboard, however i don't see an option for fresh install, is it in a sub menu within the fireboard control panel?

Okay. Then double check to make sure you have followed the integration instructions for CB and FB to the letter. Possibly you missed a step somewhere.

Ok, I am thick, from what i have seen and tried to configure, everything went ok, however i uninstalled fireboard and reinstalled (after I made the files chmod themselve (in the global config) and still get this error, does this have anything to do with it?
[code:1]

Creation/permission setting of the following directories failed:

/var/www/vhosts/musiqcentral.com/httpdocs/images/fbfiles/
/var/www/vhosts/musiqcentral.com/httpdocs/images/fbfiles/avatars
/var/www/vhosts/musiqcentral.com/httpdocs/images/fbfiles/avatars/gallery (you have to put avatars inside if you want to use it)
/var/www/vhosts/musiqcentral.com/httpdocs/images/fbfiles/category_images
/var/www/vhosts/musiqcentral.com/httpdocs/images/fbfiles/files
/var/www/vhosts/musiqcentral.com/httpdocs/images/fbfiles/images

a) You can copy the contents of __fbfiles_dist under components/com_fireboard to your Joomla root, under images/ folder, rename it to "fbfiles" and then chmod it to 777 (making it writable)
b) If you already have the contents there, but Fireboard installation was not able to make them writable, then please do it manually.
[/code:1]

what can i do, or do I need to do anything.... after this error it still said Install: successful

I also made this "public" now

This. "copy the contents of __fbfiles_dist under components/com_fireboard to your Joomla root" image folder.

I have just tried to edit my profile settings and it too says pretty much the same error as well... (just found this ability) and was "testing" on my admin login

So sorry. That message is wrong. You need to RENAME that _fbfiles_dist_ to fbfiles (no undescores) to the Joomla images folder. That error message gives the wrong direction.

"but on installation it gave me "write" erros"
What errors?

Did you complete the CB integration with FireBoard according to the CB instructions?

"I was hoping that fireboard would integrate the sql for me....like it should have,"

Don't remember reading that FireBoard did that anywhere. What SQL? More to the point, what are you talking about?
