Yup, you guys are all right. The new version eats CPU like pretty old versions, and it practically took boj down today. Toward the end of the week I will put time to fix this issue, which is very annoying. sorry guys

A.)Like I already wrote in some other forum, also big slow down issue is all discussions tab listing all discussions at all time. With 9000+ discussions and close to 400pages listed that no-one really looks but the first few pages ...this really eats up a lot of resources + if you try to help things with changing latestx.php file and go for shorter time frame you don't really see latest posts any more, but latest posts only in discussions from that time frame. I am sure you know what I mean.

B.)Function take me to latest unread post would also help because, you would need less page views to find unread content. When you have 500 users on line that counts ...what if everyone need 4-5x more page views to find what he could find in 1 page view only

I have no idea what needs to be done to code, but looking from a user perspective this is what are two biggest issues for me. I am trying to give a constructive opinion but I guess you know better then me anyway

Biggest slowdown in my experience is Google (or any other spider) indexing posts in threaded view. I run a forum that has over 50 pages with 50 posts each. Google hitting that effectively killed my virtual server - CPU for that apache process only went up to 90% and it ate all of the available memory.

After I chmoded thread.php to 000 and disabled threaded view in view.php and showcat.php CPU usage went down to max 1.5% per apache process.
