Problem has been solved. Basically I bridged smf to joomla so Jerry unpatched the Joomla-smf forum installation and it worked fine. I hope that helps for anyone else who has this problem.

Please ask any questions you may have. Thankyou Jerry for your massive help

Harry.

Hi there,

I was getting exactly the same error, unpatched the smf and joomla source files through the smf bridge installer, removed the component and it's now working fine.

Thank you!

Re:NEED HELP PLEASE: Fireboard Error Message 10 Months, 3 Weeks ago
Hello,

I'm having the same issue. I'm using JOOMLA 1.13, latest of fireboard. I have the file "fb_pdf.php", and I set the 'enable PDF' in the fireboard admin to "no" (as suggested elsewhere here)...but it didn't fix the error.

I've never used SMF before, and have no such bridges. (So that isn't my problem as seemed to be for others here..).

My Fireboard forums were working great...until a couple days ago when I did these three things:

1. I installed J-Tags component which puts tags on all the articles...and the owner has to adjust some permissions at my site to get it to work.

2. I installed the admin patch for the session-log out issue in 1.13.

3. I adjust some of the administrator control panel things (such as the webaddress for the help and rules for the forum).

Now on the frontend the forum won't open, and just gives this error message:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function jimport() in /home/gadabout/public_html/components/com_fireboard/fireboard.php on line 177

You can repeat the issue by going to my website and clicking on 'forum' in the menu at the top:

www.gadabout.biz

I've even tried deleting that menu link and making a new one...nothing I've tried will fix this error.

Please help..

Any suggestions?
Michelle

The obvious thing would be to undo what you did.

So, the only answer is to remove J-Tags (a component I REALLY need) and not have the patch to fix the admin signout issue? This seems hardly the best route. If using Fireboard means I can never do security patches and updates or add any other component then why use Fireboard at all?

Does anyone have any ideas at all about how this can be fixed without having to delete needed JOOMLA updates or other components?

I welcome all suggestions.
thanks so much

The thing is you should approach the developer of the component for a FireBoard patch then. If it worked before the patches and installs then FIreBoard is fine. This pretty much the case with all components. Not all of them work together. I don't think the admin logout patch is a problem nor do I think the configuration is either.

Sometimes you cannot have your cake and eat it too.

I you uninstall the tag component temporarily and the problem goes away then it is your culprit and you need to seek the aid of the developer.

I am sorry I dont know. Well I wouldn't anyway. What I sugest is try what I did to fix my problem. Just keep posting and something will crop up. If all else fails then unistall fireboard.

That is all.

Hello all,

I contacted the developer as recommended, and he worked on a patch...it's a little shaky and now the template isn't quite aligned and right...(not sure how to fix that? Any suggestions? Do I just upload a new template??)

But, at least now J-Tags and Fireboard work together, even if the template doesn't look quite as pretty...when the developer gets to me with a newer version I'll come back and post that as well...

The current version of the fix is attached...one replaces the fireboard.php with the new one...
