TOPIC: Post counts off?
#1239
Post counts off? 1 Year, 5 Months ago
I just want to say, I just found this component today, but already I love it. It's nice and clean, and I totally love that it is completely integrated, without bridges.

I'm not sure if this is a bug or expected behavior, but I thought I would ask you guys.

On our forum, this is what we have:

-Presidential Candidates
-----Republican Party
---------Mitt Romney
---------John McCain
-----Democratic Party
---------Hillary Clinton
---------Barack Obama
-----Third Party
---------Ralph Nader
---------Ross Perot

So right now, there is one topic in the Mitt Romney board, with one reply to it.

If you're looking at the forum page, it lists the three main forums, and for topics and replies, it lists zero for both. And if you look at the sub-forums, the Mitt Romney icon is green, like I think it should be.

Now, if I click the Republican forum, the Mitt Romney forum lists 1 topic and 1 reply, like I expect.

OK, now I just added a test post to the Republican Forum, and it lists 1 topic.

So, I'm guessing what it is doing is just pulling the post count from the Republican Forum, but none of the sub forums. So what I am wondering is, is this expected behavior? Or is the post count supposed to include the subforums as well?

Christopher,
Sorry, I haven't had the time to look into it and test it properly. As soon as I can or if someone else has the time in the meantime, it will be looked into.

OK, thanks. I hope I didn't sound rude, I just didn't know if this was expected behavior, or something that was wrong.

Would it help if I gave you my URL so you can check it out there as well?

Not rude at all!

A link to the site never hurts. I'll look at it as soon as I have the time to dedicate to it. Maybe somebody else can get to it before that but if not, I will do it as soon as I possibly can.

What you see on this site has not yet been released. Hopefully these changes will be in the next release. I know it's hard but be patient and give the devs some time. It will be worth the wait!

I just upgraded to the latest version of Fireboard, the 1.0.1 Beta version.

I see that in the Fireboard user forum here it now shows message counts for Child Boards, which is spectacular and addresses the problem Christopher was having.

The problem for me is that even though I upgraded to the latest version, it still does not show Child Board message counts on my own site

I looked through the Fireboard component Configuration Settings on the backend in Joomla and did not find anything to enable message counts for Child Boards.

Does anyone happen to know how this is enabled in the new version or what one needs to do to get it to work?

Thank you All.

I have the same issue. Makes my forum look empty, look at Campaign Chat -> Clicky For Example

Any news on a hotfix?

I understand it a beta and it comes with all the risks, but we should beta the Hotfixed too.

Ooo bit of topic.. noticed "Code" doesn't actually ignore the code SEE ->

this is my sig..
[code:1]

[/code:1]

Its ment to look like this, but without the spaces..
