Have you all considered displaying the forum in index2.php?

Ok, maybe that doesn't look 100% but it may be a simpler option that what is proposed above... Or a lead-in to something really crazy, like an index3.php or something.

Please do elaborate. I'm looking to do the same with a custom made template only removing the RIGHT column for the forum, and indeed my integrated Gallery.

Thanks,

Hello @ all,

i have edit the template like sebasvos says.
Then i have changed the template for the forum to the new one (with assign).
And that works. The Froum is displayd to the full width of the site.
But it's not every time full width.

When i make a new "post" and klick submit, then comes the page "Your message has been successfully posted" and after that the site reloads, and then the forum uses the old template. (and of cource not full width)

When i click again on some forum content(a forum entry, or on Forum, or on "show latest posts" then it's again full width.

Pleace help!! How can i solve this.

Best regards

this is an annoying little thing in fireboard, because this only works if there is an item ID in the URL. since that is not always the case, it will then revert to the standard template.

until this is consistent throughout Fireboard, try this: make the forum template the default and assign the non-forum to everything else. it's a hassle, but probably the only fix now, at least until all the URL's in Fireboard mention an item ID...

Ok I did a search and it's still vague to me. I don't see any width size in the /css folder for template_css.css.

I'm using JJ_Serenity Template for my forum.

my website is www.campgeardiscussion.com/

and I want to expand the width of it

Please help.

sebasvos - Thanks for that post mate. Worked like a charm!. Only problem i found with one or two of the templates was finding #content_outer, but the main thing is it worked on the important one.

I think it would prolly be a simple process of searching thru other css files to find the thing that needs changing

Have some karma!

Ok.. well i did figure it out going back to the beginning and starting with the basics using the default joomla template.

So I guess from that working. I can modify the pictures to the way I want and heck.. make my own custom template instead of using others. Maybe I'll just move the pictures to the default template... rhuk_solarflare_ii...

That's 2 different template systems. It isn't as easy as that. After you customize the Fireboard template you'll have to do the same to the Joomla template (or make one of your own from scratch). And that Solarflare really isn't the best template to use. It very limited and stuff is hard coded into it that might hinder your layout plans in the future. Almost no one stays with that template after getting a real feel for Joomla.

Hi all
having read this thread several times but did'nt understand much.
The problem I am experiencing is close to what is decribed herein but I cannot see the solution to it:

I configured joomla to open this forum in a new window with the default Fireboard template. (Any other template behaves the same btw.) When navigating through the forum, the template keeps intact but some links cause the forum to appear in the main frame of the Joomla template. Especially links in the bottom of the overview page (Recent posts)

I assume that the answer may be found in this thread but I cannot figure out what needs to be done to get around this strange behaviour.

I' am using Joomla 1.0.12 and Fireboard 1.0.3 with several different Templates.

Any help would be very much appreciated
