so then if the structur of the fireboard is the same as JB then all we have to do is change the table names and convert from smf to fb, i did this and i don't have any time to test it but if someone does go right ahead but im not responsible for any losing of data.

I have a pretty new SMF install with only 200 or so posts I would lover to switch before users get used to SMF. Can I ask how to use the 2 files that come with this package?
Thanks.

Just tried this convertor and it seems to have populated the database
The problem I have is when I click on the menu link for the forum all I get is a blank page opening in a new window.
Also got this error with the convertor
Populating Categories...
OK...categories and boards imported successfully!
Populating Users Table...

For Philr:
Check if user database and see if there are any duplicate, users, emails and names, if there are then make sure you delete them and only keep one.
Then if you try to convert again it wil most likely work
For gatesisthedevil:
All you have to do is edit the mysql.php, put it in you public_html folder and run the smf_fb.php.

For Gatesisthedevil:
Yes, I installed fire board then uploaded the mysql and index.php files to a folder called convert and ran index.
For Boyd:
Thanks for that, I will check and try again.

I had the same problem. Just look at your SMF database members. You have a duplicate username or possibly more. Just delete and rerun the convertor.

Need a little help. I have run the converter (SMF to F on a test site and it worked like a dream. Then I did it on the live site. Here is the result...
Populating Categories...
OK...categories and boards imported successfully!
Populating Users Table...

Total users 650, Inserted 650 of the users...
(NOTE: If inserted is less than actual, it is due to the user having made a post but has since deleted their account. The post will still show up as usual though...)
User import into JoomlaBoard successful!!
Populating 4087 messages into JoomlaBoard.
Message import Successful!
Conversion completed successfully!!!
You may now verify the installation was successful and then delete your SMF files and data.
Enjoy JoomlaBoard!
I then linked a menu to the component and it opened very slowly but it opened and looked normal. However when I click on a topic there is no text in any thread, I have been scratching the head a lot for a few hours as everything seems to be in the FB tables.
Any ideas please?
