theres one floating around somewhere in this thread, it might work with the current versions

theres also one from joomlaservices ... it works well, but the people behind it are flakes and it cost money, so its kind of a gamble, they will accept your payment, but will the product work? will their website work? and how many months do you want to sit around waiting on them to show up and finally give you what you paid for

the way ive had the best of luck was outlined above, smf > phpbb2 > fireboard

its a bit more work, but its not failed on me yet ... and its free

and does the SMF > PHPbb > FB keep all passwords and stuff? If it does, I dont mind the extra work as long as it keeps everything.

you will loose passwords, this is because of the way that the smf passwords are encrypted vs pretty much everyone else, even the paid plugin looses your passwords

post's, user data, and attachments port over fine

in my use i also lost avatars, altho i was going from mybb > smf > phpbb > fireboard (yea it was a pita) and avatars were lost going from mybb > smf, after that i couldn't tell you

well i wanted to use that converter as i read about it here at BOJ.
Finally on that site it suddenly costs $20.
I dont care about the $20 but the news item here still says free download.

But guess what...because of a mistake you can download it for free !
Al i can say is..READ and look closely in their forums !
Then you see what i mean..

There are two versions for the converters : one for free and one for commercial (full features) . The free version almost features which you need, so you simply login to our site to download it .
