TOPIC: Setting permissions to "Registred" also needs admi
#18631
Setting permissions to "Registred" also needs admi 1 Year ago
Hi all,

This might be a noob question but I still need help with it.

If I set a part of the forum to private and set access levels to "Registered" to thoose forums people that have access level "Registred" in front end still doesn't see thoose threads.

I've tried and step by step give them more access and when I give them administrator to backend the private parts of the forum becomes visable.

I'm using FB 1.0.1 and Joomla 1.5

Please help.

No one knows how to do this? I mean all ppl shouldn't have to be admins to be able to read non public stuff right?

Good luck with this one. I've asked on this forum, the joomla forum, and received no responses. Seems like a major issue, but I guess no one else is having the problem or wants to look into it.

Interestingly enough, if you view users in Joomla! and filter by "All Registered", none of the registered users show up. This makes me think the fireboard issue with permissions may be a Joomla! 1.5 issue.

Still, I can't believe no one else is talking about this...

If you resolve this issue, please follow up on this thread, I'd love to know a way around the problem.

thanks

No you are not alone - my problem is a little more extensive but I am sure it is the same problem.

I use JACLPlus to add new groups so I can allocate forums to particular people.

Same sympton, they only see the public forums and dot see the others until they get administrator privilege. The forum admin screen shows the correct ACL. See my other posting at www.bestofjoomla.com/component/option,co...d,66/id,19489/#19489
