when 1.0.2 comes out we won't be able to upgrade the database from 1.0.1?

Well I hope we will, this is a minimum for every upgrade, especially for a forum.
edit:Ok apparently there won't be a 1.0.2 it should be directly 1.0.3 but yes we should be able to upgrade from 1.0.1...

I've been searching the website for any news when stable code will be published. All I have seen is August for an Release candidate...
Does anyone know if that is still the case?

from what I've seen from 1.0.2RC2, the upgrade will be a lot less painful than upgrading from 1.0.0 or joomlaboard. in the database, only a few fields are added for ranks, website, msn and such, like it is in this forum.

some files are moved around, like avatars, but this is fairly straightforward and nothing a good FTP client can't fix.

as to when it will be out, as it is with many open source projects, nobody really knows. the SVN at Joomlacode is still pretty active, with stuff still being added, so when the developers will be satisfied with the featureset, I don't know...

Hi I actually just upgraded to one of the latest 1.0.2RC SVN. There is an sql upgrade file to run in phpmyadmin. Not difficult to do, but 2 lines where not in the proper order for me.
Anyway the bottomline is yes there will be an upgrade.
As to "no 1.0.2" I just meant that I read in the forum that when they are done with 1.0.2 RC, the stable will be called directly 1.0.3. But anyone of the team is welcome to confirm this. I am not entirely sure. Anyway just wait and you won't be disappointed and you will be able to upgrade.

I guess I will post this here. Does anyone can tell me how to upgrade from 1.0 1.02? Please, keep in mind I'm noob when it comes to PHP and MySQL, so the more detailed the steps (pics are welcome ) the better.

How to upgrade:
Uninstall FB and reinstall it again... If you want to keep your config file, you will possibly need to save it first and overwrite it after install!

For Pre-Stable versions of the database: I'm pretty sure there' won't be an update script.
Much too many partial states of the DB have been produced by different import scripts and no script will fix these states. As stated many times before: This is/was beta. And someone who uses beta SW should be able to check the DB-structure by hand.
Not doing this and simply run the DB-Update is a high-risk operation...
Your 1.0.1 version ... could be at any intermediate state (db) in betweeen 1.0.1 and 1.0.2 upgrade code.

Hello everyone,

I found Fireboard via TSMF's link on their home page
So I am pretty new.

I have read up on a number of threads, and from the sounds of it, when the stable version of Fireboard is releaseed I should be able to upgrade my Joomlaboard to Fireboard.

However from reading these posts above, I wanted to check with everyone to make sure that I can still plan on installing 1.0.3(?) and be able to upgrade my Joomlaboard.
