while i was aware of the fact it was a beta release i also hoped that there would be some form of script to update. i very rarely go into the database as i'm a pure novice when it comes to the database

however, i did install fireboard and its become quite popular on my site and if i have to lose all my posts then i know the users are not going to be happy and its going to set me back

will there be a way to do it manually and will there be instructions for this?

I think (but I'm not 100% sure) that what they are saying is that if you are running an unmodified version of the current stable Fireboard code, then you will be able to upgrade without losing your posts. If you have been using the nightly SVN builds then all bets are off. That's the way I read it and I could be all wrong, I hope not but could be.

We are back on the track and preparing a release max to the beginning of the next week. I would say it is not 100% stable but stable enough so people can use it, thanks to our devs.

This is great! I have been testing on a development site and really like Fireboard. I'm waiting for a stable release to publish on my live site. Again, this great news!

The changes are not dramatic, like from JB to FB. So you should be able to upgrade easily, if done correctly. We will try to publish a nice walk through for it.
