Re:1.03 stable.. how about a native SMF-FB converter? 11 Months, 2 Weeks ago

I'd add another $50 - $100 to the pot, depending on how quickly the converter was made. I am getting ready to migrate things over to 1.5 and would love to have everything ready to go with an updated Joomla install, FB and be able to convert my existing SMF board into the new installation.

Maybe just wait for a bit then. That's only a couple of hours of programmer time in the world of payment for code. They are volunteers for the *most* part.
edit: meh, sorry. bad first post. just reacting to the shouted "and still no response" I guess. My bad.

So here's the utterly amusing aspect of all of this ...
- users complain about no developer responses re: timelines, etc ...
- moderators/developers respond that users should help with testing, make donations, simply be quiet about it because it's all volunteer, stop whining, etc etc ...
- users (who are now probably in a critical situation with the Joomla-SMF situation) are now stepping up to make what I would consider a LARGE donation (especially given that a basis for the work has already been completed!) ... and
- developers don't respond.
My question is this - at this point, what more do the developers want? You have $$, testers, feedback ...
Again ... over-promise and under-deliver is not the way to go.

Are those PROMISED donations or ACTUAL money that HAS BEEN donated? I'm just curious. I just want to clarify exactly WHO is over-promising and under-delivering.

Grumble ...
I am sure that having read the requests and pleading for a converter, you know to whom I am referring ...
Based on the state of affairs with bridged forums and the like, I have no doubt that the $$ would be donated. Having said that, a complete and utter disregard of this by the developers is adding salt to an already-open wound, don't you think?

beside asking here I also opened new thread a while ago asking where to donate. No one gave any instructions and the link from the component itself leads to here. I am sure dev are busy and this task will be done. However I am not thinking about reconfiguring my current setup because the free converter did it for me already

I understand your frustration. As I get older my patience is getting thinner and thinner. But I have come to realize that sometimes the squeaky wheel does not get the grease. I don't know why this particular group of developers don't update their users on their progress but that's just how it is. But from my experience the BOJ team is pretty middle of the road in that respect. For instance the folks over at Jbulletin released their forum component (also based on Joomlaboard) and have NEVER responded to my questions regarding installation errors. And I'm the only one that has ever posted one the forum!. Hell they won't even use their latest version for their OWN forum!
That being said, communication by the devs is what it is. Sometimes one wonders why they even have a news page when they never post any but you have to admit FB is the best thing going right now.

The response time from the FB team is sooooooooo bad that I am beginning to completely give up on FireBoard completely...
In fact, I will not recommend this forum to anyone if there is absolutely no response or at least some type of communication with the development team.

Really is it so hard for someone, just one person from the development team be a spokesperson and inform us.
