I'm going to quote a response I just gave in a thread very similar to yours.

Please read THIS thread. It explains how to do everything you could want to do with a template. Neither major_tom nor my self were familiar with Fireboard templating until this thread. Now we can create them at will. Get familiar with this and you can too.

And yes, I'm sure it would be FAR easier for YOU if someone did the work for you and then handed it to you but then you would be at their mercy every time you wanted to affect any kind of changes. THIS way you don't have to wait for anyone.

grumblemarc

Well, I didn't ask for ANY one to do ALL the work. I just asked where in the template the information for the footer could be found as I HAVE NOT found it. It's great that YOU can make any changes, but that doesn't mean EVERYONE can. That is why they are here - looking for help. I see that you are always bashing people instead of helping and giving guidance in the true form of a moderator. There is a BIG difference between the two.

If you would have read this entire post then you would have know what was being said instead of replying to my post with "What Footer?". Then I was kind enough to answer YOUR question, and I get a lame response from you that had USELESS value. If you are going to moderate then READ THE ENTIRE POST OR STAY OUT OF IT!

You have no idea what some of us are going through. I am a designer not a coder - I got this dumped in my lap after the IT Guy went to jail. So give someone a break!

major_tom,

How do I remove the footers in your template? Really I would like to know.

come on, you tell me that you dont find the footer.php in the template wich has just to lines... one for fireboard, one for me...

you say that you have a commercial site, and dont want this informations there..., i make these templates for free, the only thing i get for it is one single link in the footer... do you really think i provide this information ( wich is one of the most easiest things and you really dont have to be a coder for it...) what grumblemarc said was, that before he watched the video tutorial he could not make any template for fireboard or even customize one. the same thing happend to me.... i did not knew anything about css or html or sometihng and never thougt that i can make a template. i watched this very good tutorial and now i can.

i watched grubmlemark a lot of times helping others but i also often saw them comming, asking, and then never see them again..., and we both got a lot to do with a lot of questions, then the people asked why it takes soooo much time to get any answer to questions..., but no one mentioned that a forum also needs people answering questions. just two of them for lots of questions are less... no one who got there answer stays here to provide the own experience to others ( exept a few people ) and the frustrations about questions like how to edit a footer -> answer: in the footer.php , wich is mostly on ervery web page the same, much more when you answere it you know that the only benefit you get will be away by answering the question.

if your it guy went to jail its bad for you. hire an other or give me money to do the changes you like directly.

i helped you and gave you some tips, but i cannot do everything for you...

I agree and I have posted answers here for others. But, I will look again at the footer.php, maybe after 20 hours in front of a computer I may have overlooked it. I had no problem with the footer before I installed this template. Am I complaining - NO - Am I grateful for the work you did - YES. As stated in looks great on the site. A few tweaks I have to make but other than that it works great!

But it is a turn off for others who get bantered by a moderator when they are really looking for help. Some are new to forums and new to all of this. So, as frustrating as it all is - It will continue to happen. All we can do is guide them in a courtesy way without the frustration in our answers. If it frustrates some - then don't answer the post and let someone else.

This is not the only forum I use, But it is the only one I see that when you get an answer - it might not be the friendliest.

I wasn't try to upset you, I was only stating a fact to grumblemarc. Maybe he should change it to happymarc and people might not say he was grumpy.

As far as the IT Guy goes - I am trying to replace him. But it is hard when he stole so much from me and pretty much made me broke. I am out about $30,000 because of him. So, how much would you charge to make the forum blend in to my site with the right color scheme and icons to match the site? I think you know what the name of the site is already.
