Spell Checker 1 Year, 4 Months ago
I think a spell checker would be a great addition to what looks like becoming one of the best Joomla components around.

I do also think a spellchecker would be great.
But actually, since Iīve been looking around for, and tested, a lot of solutions I found that Firefox and the spellchecker-plugin that could be found as extension is a far better solution for most people. It works in every page You like to use it since it is in the browser instead of the pages. If Firefox isnīt the browser for You maybe Google spellchecker is an alternative? (IE and FF at least, maby more browsers is supported.)

Understand me right here now, there is a lot of third parts spellchecker to use all ready, maybe it takes to much time for the developers of Fireboard if the should create a new spellchecker as well.

I agree with this, spell checking can be best achieved client side.

There is also IEspell which is the spell check that vBulletin uses. That runs in IE or any IE based browser (Like avant browser).

So for those of us who dont use Mozilla regularly (Sadly I am one of them. Avant browser lured me in a while back, lol) all I have to do is right click in any text field and I can have an active spellcheck.

IEspell can also be called upon using javascript, which is how the wysiwyg in vbulletin uses it.

Yes I agree also that this should be a client side function and Firefox inbuilt spellcheck and IEspell are both very good solutions.

Please don't bloat Fireboard with features that are (better) achieved by other applications
